First branded competition on Google+

So who won the war to be the first brand (other than Google, obvs) on Google+?

It was….

…drumroll…

FORD.

What’s interesting about this is that it’s the kind of competition you can’t do on Facebook – any competition using native functionality of Facebook (eg. wall posts, uploading a photo, etc) as an entry mechanism is specifically outlawed in the promo rules.

Now that Facebook has an apparently more easygoing competitor, will they have to relax the stringent promo rules to avoid losing all their brand clients?

Interesting stuff.
