Christmas in July – The Co-Operative’s new TV ad

Leo Burnett’s new TV ad for The Co-Operative is pure genius. Watch (with sound):

This ad is going to stop people in their tracks. Halfway through a dull ad break, when you’re chatting to your mate, Christmas music comes on. What? Has someone messed up their scheduling? You watch, rapt, to find out why you’re hearing a Christmas song in July – and then fall in love with the ad.

And best of all, it makes perfect sense for the brand and the message. The Co-Operative brings the kind of magic you usually see at Christmas to your summer. It gives you that twinkly snowfall feeling when the sun is shining.

Beautiful, original, inspired. TV ad of the year so far.
